Posting & answering calls

How to put out a call for collaborators — and how to respond to one.

Posting a call

Click the “+ Post a call”button in the navigation bar. You'll fill in:

  • Description — what you're working on and what kind of help you need. Be specific: “Need a vocalist for an R&B ballad” works better than “looking for collaborators.”
  • Role needed — the specific skill you're looking for (vocalist, producer, mix engineer, etc.).
  • Genre — helps the right people find your call.

Choose whether the call should start a new project or belong to one of your existing workspaces. For a new idea, Takeyard automatically creates the project and workspace. For an existing project, the approved collaborator joins the workspace you selected.

Starting privately

You do not need to post a call to begin. Choose “New project” from Home or the sidebar to create a private workspace for your files, tasks, schedule, and notes. If you need help later, open the project and choose “Find a collaborator”.

Answering a call

Found a call you want to join? Click “View & answer”on the card, then write a short message explaining why you're a good fit. The project owner will see your answer and can approve or pass.

Approving an answer

If you're the project owner, you'll see incoming answers on your call page. When you approve someone, they become a member of the project phase — they can now upload files, share stems, and collaborate with you inside the workspace.

Every approval is recorded in the proof ledgeras a “join” event.
