How to share audio, artwork, and video project files.

How uploading works

Inside a project phase, you can upload audio stems and mixes, cover artwork, and video. Working copies are stored securely and are only visible to members of that phase.

What happens when you upload

  1. You select a supported audio, image, or video file.
  2. Takeyard calculates a fingerprint of the file right in your browser — a unique code generated from the file's exact contents.
  3. The file is uploaded to the project's secure storage.
  4. A permanent copy is saved in your private contributions folder (this copy can never be deleted — it's your evidence).
  5. The fingerprint is sent to OpenTimestamps to be anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain.
  6. A new entry appears in the proof ledger.

File types & limits

Supported audio formats are MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC/M4A, OGG, and AIFF, up to 50 MB. Supported images are PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, up to 10 MB. Supported video formats are MP4, WebM, MOV, and M4V, up to 200 MB. The file extension and the browser-reported content type must agree.

Evidence files are permanent

When you upload a contribution, a copy goes into a special storage area that cannot be deleted — not by you, not by the project owner, not by Takeyard. This is by design: your evidence is preserved permanently so your proof is always backed by the original file.
